Paper Hacks

Running a little low on creative juice?  We think there are a few ways to deal with these inevitable blocks. Whether it’s distracting yourself or realigning your focus, theres bound to be one method that will rock the boat to get your ideas flowing again!

1. Draw out a plan

Being creative doesn’t mean you should forget about being organized and productive. Planning ahead can help you set aside the right amount of time (or more), and help avert the risk of creative plateaus. Don’t forget to make a to-do list to keep you on track with your tasks! With proper time management, you’ll have the freedom to judge your ideas after you finish them, and leave room for even more brainstorming!

2. Shift your focus to other smaller projects

When you’re stuck in a creative rut for too long, it can be discouraging and you may end up feeling more demoralized than ever. Distracting yourself from the big project can be empowering, as it keeps you productive. You can then return to your task with renewed enthusiasm and a refreshed mind!

3. Write it all down

Something’s bothering you and it’s affecting your focus? Write everything down in a journal and picture that you are dumping your thoughts onto a blank sheet (even if it’s only temporary). With the load off your mind, it will be easier for you to become more present in the moment and improve concentration.

4. Stimulate your brain with some eye candy

Nothing beats working in an environment that encourages creativity! From inspirational quotes to freehand paintings, experiment with visual aesthetics by placing different colors, designs and words in your surroundings. Some of these may just spark some inspiration and jolt you out of your creative block. Decorate your workspace well and you are well on your way to reaching your next big idea!

5. Immerse in Mother Nature

Fresh air is always good for the soul. Take a walk or go for a jog to clear your head and take in the beautiful nature in your surroundings. There’s a reason why many say nature is our greatest inspiration! (P.S: Our papers are certified by PEFC, too! This means our papers are sourced from sustainably managed forests.)

7. Take a well-deserved break!

Working 24/7 will only lead to a burnout. Time may be a pressing issue, but a short afternoon siesta or a little daydreaming can go a long way. Take some time off the stress and engage in a hobby, like read a book, doodle, play music or simply do nothing. Not everything we do needs a purpose – after all, you’re just taking a break!
