PaperOne™: Hi Mr. Manohar Das Mool, thank you for speaking with us today. Let’s begin this interview with a little bit about yourself and Kagaj Kothi Pvt. Ltd.

Mr. Manohar Das Mool: Hello there, thank you for having me today. My name is Manohar Das Mool, and I am the chairman of Kagaj Kothi Pvt. Ltd. We are a 4th generation family-owned company and also one of the leading paper merchants in Nepal.

PaperOne™: Seems like he company has been around for a long time! Could you share with us what makes your company different from the rest in the market?

Mr. Manohar Das Mool: Getting to where we are today was certainly not an easy feat, but it has definitely been rewarding. In terms of what makes us different...we adhere to ethical business practices and put in our all to ensure that we fulfil our commitment to our customers. This goes beyond just making profits to being committed to the larger society too.

PaperOne™: That’s inspiring! Could you elaborate a little bit about this commitment to the larger society?

Mr. Manohar Das Mool: Sure thing. Our company has been actively supporting economically disadvantaged children in Nepal through the provision of sponsorships, meals and school supplies wherever we can. It’s great to see how the hard work put in by our team has contributed to the development of Nepal’s education sector.

PaperOne™: That’s great to hear! What a wonderful thing your team is doing. Moving on, could you share more about your relationship with APRIL Group?

Mr. Manohar Das Mool: We have worked with APRIL Group for about 15 years, carrying both PaperOne™ and PrintOne™ Offset and Cutsize products which we like because of its consistently good quality, and how it also makes printing a lot easier.

PaperOne™: Thank you for the compliment! We take pride in ensuring the quality of our products and we’re glad that your printing experience has been enhanced. For the next question, how do you think the digital shift has impacted the pulp and paper industry?

Mr. Manohar Das Mool: It has made a slight impact in the magazine and publication sector for sure, but not so much the education sector in our country which is still growing.

PaperOne™: I see, as developments are underway, what direction do you see Kagaj Kothi Pvt. Ltd. moving toward in the next 5 years?

Mr. Manohar Das Mool: I believe that Nepal’s demand for paper will continue to grow and so we see our company growing in sync with that.

PaperOne™: Thank you so much for sharing! Before we end, are there any interesting facts about the paper industry that you’d like to share with us?

Mr. Manohar Das Mool: One interesting fact about Nepal’s paper is how most of its homemade ones come from a plant called “Lokta”. What’s amazing about this is that it’s extremely durable and also known to last for centuries!
