PaperOne™ Customer Feature Article Jan 2020

1 Jan 2020

Welcome to the PaperOne™ customer feature, where we interview our customers to find out more about them, their company, their thoughts about the industry, and their partnership with APRIL Group.

For this month’s spotlight, we spoke with Ms Sylvia Lionggosari, Division Director of Datascrip. With a network of offices across Indonesia, Datascrip specialises in providing business solutions for customers, and is a prominent player in the marketing and distribution domain.

Here are the highlights of our conversation:

PaperOne™: Hi Ms Sylvia. Thank you for taking the time to speak with us. Tell us more about yourself and your role at Datascrip.

Sylvia: Thank you for having me today! I am currently the Division Director at Datascrip, and I have been with the company for 23 years. I oversee 3 divisions including the Division for Stationery and Office Supplies, where my responsibility is to ensure their overall profit and growth.

PaperOne™: We understand that Datascrip is a business solutions-driven company. Can you share with us more about this?

Sylvia: Gladly. Datascrip has been established for 50 years already, and we act as distributors of products that are key to many businesses such as printers, laptops and of course, paper. What makes us a unique player in the Indonesian market is that we segment our employees into different divisions, allowing them to specialise in particular products. This allows us to focus on each of our business as well as better inform our customers about their specific needs and consequently, helping them solve their business challenges more effectively.

PaperOne™: 50 years is a long time. How long has Datascrip been working with APRIL Group, and what type of products do you distribute across Indonesia?

Sylvia: Yes, our company has definitely come a long way. We have been working closely with APRIL for over 20 years. We enjoy working with them as they take the effort to forge relations beyond work. They actively include us in expansion plans, which is why we play such an integral role in developing the PaperOne™ brand across Indonesia. We primarily distribute the PaperOne™ Office Paper range.

PaperOne™: With such a big presence in Indonesia, does Datascrip actively engage in CSR efforts?

Sylvia: Definitely! In fact, Datascrip is committed to playing an active role in achieving the United Nations Global Compact goals across all functions. For instance, we were involved in providing aid during the 2018 Palu earthquake, and we regularly donate funds and resources to vulnerable communities. We are also a member of the Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI), an independent body that is committed to educating the public on sustainability as well as environmental best practices.

PaperOne™: That’s amazing work being done. As a final question to conclude this interview, how do you think digitisation has affected the pulp & paper industry, and how is Datascrip prepared for such changes in the future?

Sylvia: I think that digitisation of workflow has definitely encouraged companies in the pulp & paper industry like us to think outside the box and find ways to adapt and grow in response to the shifting trends. For instance, recycled paper will be an interesting market to penetrate, and with our involvement in the GBCI, we think that we are well positioned to explore this side of things in the future.
