This month, we feature Ms. Erica Sy, Sales Manager of VanHawk Paper.

PaperOne™: Hi Ms. Erica, thank you for your time today. To begin, tell us more about yourself and your role in VanHawk Paper!

Ms. Erica Sy: Thanks for having me! My name is Erica and I am the Sales Manager at VanHawk Paper. I have been working here since 2011. VanHawk Paper Philippines was established in 1989 and it was initially set up as a paper converting business but it has since grown into a nationwide distributor of April Group Paper Products. At VanHawk Paper, we are devoted to providing good products, better services and the best value to our customers.

PaperOne™: It does sound like your company has a rich history. What do you think makes VanHawk Paper different from its competitors?

Ms. Erica Sy: At VanHawk, we strive to achieve efficiency in our operations and excel in our customer service. In fact, through the years, some of our customers have turned into friends, and some friends have even started to double up as our customers! On top of building strong relationships, we also consistently ensure that our products are sustainable and environmentally friendly.

PaperOne™: Wow, that sounds really amazing! On the topic of becoming friends with your customers and business partners, could you share more about your experience with working with APRIL Group?

Ms. Erica Sy: APRIL Group has consistently made us feel like valued partners since day one. As a partner with APRIL Group, VanHawk Paper has benefited from their extensive knowledge of the paper industry in the Philippines and in Asia. Our Sales Representative from APRIL Group has also been extremely action-orientated when it comes to our day-to-day operations and in serving our needs.

Ms. Erica Sy: Our customers prefer paper from APRIL Group due to its unrivalled quality. This is why APRIL Group is our sole Paper Supplier at VanHawk Paper.

PaperOne™: Your belief in us motivates us to do even better! With a shift towards paperless mediums such as e-magazines, e-books and e-statements, how do you think that the pulp and paper industry will be impacted?

Ms. Erica Sy: Looking at the Philippine market, there would be a slower shift to paperless mediums compared to other countries. Despite the rise of paperless mediums, we still feel strongly towards paper remaining as an imperative resource in the daily operations of various organisations. With that said, VanHawk Paper is increasing our portfolio of APRIL Group’s product offerings and are also working towards strengthening our nationwide distribution capabilities.
